Department of Defence Case Study
The Department of Defence is the department of the Government of Ireland that is responsible for preserving peace and security in Ireland. The department is led by the Minister for Defence.

Report Migration
The Department of Defence along with MakoData completed a multi-month project, migrating 800+ reports from the end-of-life Oracle Discoverer to MakoDataAs part of the migration, additional improvements were made to the reports to maximise the value of the project and ongoing usage.
Complex and Legislative Data Needs
The Department of Defence have now automated their complex Single Pension Scheme and Appropriation Accounting needs needs with the MakoData solution, resulting in significant time savings and increased accuracy.

Report Migration Success
The teams from MakoData and the Department of Defence have worked closely over the last few months to ensure all necessary reports were migrated from the now end-of-life Oracle Discoverer to the modern MakoData solution. Following on from a detailed analysis of the existing estate of legacy reports, the project was structured into a series of agile sprints to ensure success. In total over 800 reports were migrated to MakoData in a series of sprints. As part of the migration, additional improvements were made to the reports to maximise the value of the project and ongoing usage.
After a successful project and implementation, the team at the Department of Defence now have a world-class reporting and analytics solution that will cater for all of their reporting and data needs into the future.
